I thought this property was wonderful. Three kitchen things: toaster provided is broken - the bread won't stay down, there needs to be a large colander for spaghetti (two small sieves provided were inadequate), and there should be one big pot for boiling spaghetti or similar - the pots there are just a little small for that Just before we left, I dropped down to look under the couch in the living room to make sure nothing was under there - it was really gross! piles of sand, hair, etc. I would be surprised if that couch had been moved or cleaned under in the last 3 months or more.

PLEASANTLY SUPRISED! After booking(pretty last minute) I read the detailed reviews and was sure we made a huge mistake booking this place. Maybe it was because we went into it expecting the worst, but we were pleasantly surprised by this great beach home! We visited while the gorgeous hydrangea in the front of the home was in full bloom(mid July). The old carpet has been removed and replaced with tile in the home. The bedrooms have what looked to be brand new carpet in them. Everything was very clean. Yes, it has a bit of a musty smell at first, but not of dog or pet urine as older reviews had mentioned. The furniture is pretty old and could use updating. The kitchen is clean and has all the appliances you'll need. The only complaint is that the dining table is permanently sticky. It needs a good sanding and polyurethane finish. Maybe bring a small table cloth and that will take care of that. The bed mattresses are indeed old, but were clean and comfortable. The stairs down to the beach were still in disrepair, but we were able to hop up and down with no problem. The next door neighbors had no problem with us using theirs. The tv was hard to use, but we didn't mind. Overall, we had a wonderful visit. The beach is amazing and the view is sublime.

We stayed for 4 beautiful days. I love this home so much, we celebrated Mom's 90th birthday, she wanted to be able to see the ocean and all be together. It has an amazing view and feels very private. Beach access isn't easy, but those that wanted to get there were able. I believe the price is better due to the lack of easy access. I was concerned about cleanliness due to another review but there is new flooring in all rooms, and it was very clean. Waldport is very centrally located, we bought crabs in Newport, shopped in Lincoln City, purchased beautiful hand-blown glass in Seal Rock, went to Wednesday Market in Waldport, people were so friendly everywhere we went. Such an amazing 4 days, we will definitely be back. I would love to own this home, but I'll settle for borrowing it, so many memories created and waiting to be created!

"Beautiful beach weather! We had an overall excellent vacation, Had few stains on carpet. But otherwise clean. Lots of helpful notes posted. The outside garbage was almost full but we shoved ours in. Might recommend getting new can opener ( hard to use hand one and electric did not work). Was little hard to see address from road but once we got our bearings looked for cute ducks and was easier to find!"

"5 Lovely days at the beach. We had a wonderful time hanging out with family, going to the beach, cooking food, and playing games. Everything was clean, and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking."

"Overall our experience with OBV was very pleasant. The place we stayed called Pacific Rest was very pleasant. Having carpet in the dining room is not the best option. I read other reviews on this place stating there weren't enough cooking utensils, etc. Obviously these people have not stayed very many places like this. I found there to be plenty of any items that were necessary."

Beautiful week in Waldport. We were here for 6 days. The house sleeps 8 people very well. Beach access was as advertised, just a few steps away. There were multiple places to sit at the edge of the year and enjoy watching surf and sunsets. This is the 1st time staying at this location, but 3rd time in Waldport. This was my wife's favorite. Even now we wished we'd stayed longer. We took full advantage of the kitchen for breakfast most mornings and lunch, and ate in Waldport or Newport for dinners. You have to try China Restaurant in Waldport. Can wait to get back to this location next year."
