Ford House is a cozy, rustic oceanfront home on a wooded hillside, with a deck that juts out like the prow of a ship overlooking the sea and the sandy beach south of Waldport. Even from the paneled living room, with its comfy seating, wood fireplace and TV/DVD/VCR, you can hear the continuous roar of the surf.
The dining area and compact kitchen work well for quick meals; you may want to rely on the many wonderful restaurants in Waldport and Yachats for more elaborate dining (Waldport’s delicious Hilltop Bistro is close by). Three bedrooms and one bath make it easy to invite friends or family to join you. A wooded pathway to the beach runs down a ravine right next to Ford House, so you’re minutes away from the sand; if you prefer a less challenging access, a State Recreation Site is three minutes away by car.

“FIVE STARS! Labor Day Getaway With the Fam We were charmed by Ford House and truly enjoyed our stay. The best description I have is if your grandparents had a beach house that stayed in the family for decades, this could be it. A few modern conveniences, but mostly familiar, family comforts. Super clean and well supplied. Laundry machines! There was a fan but we didn’t need it, windows were sufficient. The reviews we read before booking both prepared us and made us laugh. The precious person who “couldn’t fit their luggage down the hallway…” had us rolling! Can’t imagine too may folks are hauling their hard-sided suitcases to Waldport, but we had no trouble moving our boys’ giant duffels down the hall. Beds extremely comfortable. Hot shower with great water pressure. Wifi awesome. Enjoyed using the grill. The beach view was glorious, and the beach uncrowded. Easy, helpful communication with management. We would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Ford House, and hope to return ourselves!”
