Sunset Shores is the ideal Pacific City family vacation rental tucked between the beach access of Bob Straub State Park and the Nestucca River. This large and roomy home has four levels; the first-floor entrance has plenty of space to take off sandy shoes and hang coats before heading up the stairs to the great room. Curl up on the cozy sofa and watch the waves crash around Haystack Rock or grab a glass of wine and climb the unique spiral staircase to the widow's walk to watch the sunset.
Sunset Shores is just around the corner from the boat launch on the Nestucca River, so bring your boat or your longboard, shortboard, boogie board, sandboard, kayak, paddleboard, and any other beach toys that you deem essential for this getaway (there is plenty of storage in garage.) After a day of fishing for salmon or playing in the surf, rinse off in the outdoor shower then head inside to relax in this cozy home.
First Floor: The entry floor level features a family room great for watching the game on the large smart flat-screen TV or challenge each other to a rousing game of foosball. Laundry and a full bathroom with a shower are located on this floor.
Second Floor: There are four bedrooms on this level. The Bunkroom features three twin-size bunk beds (six twin beds total). Bedroom 2 features two single twin beds. Bedroom 3 has a king bed with a soft pillow top mattress. Bedroom 4 is an ensuite with a walk-in shower, a king bed, and a twin-day bed with a trundle. A guest bathroom with a bathtub is off the hall on this floor. Sunset Shores has room for everyone!
Third Floor: This is where family and friends gather. The large, modern kitchen has plenty of space to whip up gourmet meals for your group. The kitchen features a cooktop in the island, double wall ovens, vegetable sink, loads of counter space, pantry, and seating for 5 along the bar.
This Great Room features a large, comfy sofa, dining table that seats 8, and a cast-enameled gas-fired stove to help you warm up after a day playing in the surf. The fifth king bedroom is also located on this floor. There is also a full bathroom located on this floor.
Fourth Floor: Narrow spiral stairs take you up to the Widow's Walk from the Great Room. The small, cozy room has windows on all four sides showcasing the views of the Nestucca River and hills to the east, the Pacific Ocean, and Haystack Rock to the west. Bring a book and a glass of wine and escape to this hideaway.
Sunset Shores is just about a mile from the downtown hub of Pacific City. “FIVE STARS Plenty of Room This place of great! Three levels plus a coup with a large living area to meet yet space enough to get away. We stayed with three families two different times. Everyone had sleeping space and four bathrooms kept things moving. Short walk to the beach and a driveway for our three vehicles. Can't wait to go back!”

There was enough room for our large family to stretch out and relax; the teenagers loved the game room! Views from the bird's nest were spectacular. The beach is only a short walk away. Furnishings are decorations are top notch. We would love to stay in this home again.”
“FIVE STARS! THIS HOUSE IS AMAZING! This house was Amazing. There was plenty of room for us and two other families and it never felt like we were crowded. I loved going up to the top lookout because the view from up there was beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals and even with having 14 people there the hot water never ran out. The beach was just a short walk from the house, which made it nice to go on an early morning walk to find seashells. The sunset on the beach was picture-perfect. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.”
“FIVE STARS! SUNSET SHORES Stayed at "Sunset Shores" rental in Pacific City a couple weeks ago. We had not been there before, but it was totally worth it. Nearby Cape Kiwanda is a must. House was clean, it fit our large family well, the location was super cool right near a park, a stones throw from the beach, and food was never too far either. Would stay there again for sure.”
“Four Stars! SUPER COOL HOUSE! Took my family, along with some extended family and stayed at "Sunset Shores", a vacation rental in Pacific City. House was super cool, kids loved it from the bright red front door to the lookout space at the top level. House was clean, and there were plenty of rooms, bathrooms, and spaces to hangout. Would recommend you go to nearby Cape Kiwanda, an amazing place! We had never been there before, but the home and Pacific City were both great. Would stay here again for sure.”
“FIVE STARS! A TRULY MAGICAL GETAWAY Sunset Shores is truly a magical getaway on the Oregon Coast! Its furnishings and decorations are modern and beautiful! The beds are extremely comfortable, and there is more than enough seating in every living area. We loved the setup of this house- the bunk room is on the second floor, so after children went to bed, adults could still hang out upstairs with a tv, and teenagers on the bottom floor in the tv/game room. The kitchen is HUGE and our party of 13 had plenty of space to hangout and eat. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything we needed to cook all week. Washer and dryer, and outside shower to rinse sand off were great features! Plus this house has 4 showers! Amazing for large groups or family reunions. It was stocked with games, beach towels, and a foosball table. The house is located just over the dunes from the beach, so it’s a short 2 minute walk and then you have what feels like a private beach to yourselves! We absolutely loved this location which is why we will keep coming back! Also located down the road from the cutest new candy/ice cream shop! I want to tell everyone about this house but then I don’t, so I can have it all to myself! Thank you Sunset Shores for a week full of memories!”
“FIVE STARS! PERFECT LOCATION! Loved staying at this rental last weekend! There was space for the whole extended family and then some! Lots of space for kids to play and adults to enjoy. There are so many hidden spaces to relax in the home. The kids loved getting to sleep all together in the bunk room and playing foosball all day! The kitchen was massive and had everything we needed. So many windows gave it great natural light even on cloudy days! Everything was clean and beautifully decorated. A true retreat and oasis, home away from home! It is a short 3 minute walk to a private beach that was perfect for playing all day with the kids. Sand dunes and tide pools are minutes away by car. We can't wait to come back!”
